I had planned to post about the Super Hero jacket I’ve been working on today, but I am still finishing up the coastal cargos to go with it so I will include both in the Kids Clothing Week wrap up next Monday. Be sure to come back to see it all finished up – you won’t be disappointed!

I know I have posted about the Ninjago costume I made my son in July. You can see it in detail here. And I also gave you a preview of the Pretty Pretty Princess Dress I was making for my daughter at the beginning of October. But this weekend when she put it on, I knew I had to show it to you again all finished and on the “model”.

Never mind the Hello Kitty Crocs. Let’s just say nothing happens without the crocs. lol. For our Pretty Pretty Pink Princess dress I used the Sugarplum Princess Dress pattern from FooFooThreads. The pattern is amazing and instead of having to print pages and pages of pattern pieces, the designer, Jocelyn, instructs you to use the bodice pattern pieces and then your rotary mat/ruler/cutter for most everything else.  I contacted Jocelyn before cutting the dress because after reading the pattern instructions and seeing the size & finished measurement charts, I realized I wanted the dress to be longer than her size would provide – in fact I wanted the length provided by the 5T size. My daughter also measured for the size 12/18 mos bodice, but I didn’t want the dress to be too snug. Jocelyn was great to communicate with through Etsy Convos and encouraged me to stick with the 12/18 months size to avoid gaping in the bodice. She also helped me think through cutting the skirt longer and recommended I cut the width for the 12/18 months side with the length for the 5T size for all skirt pieces and ruffles. It couldn’t have turned out more perfectly in my book. The length is just perfect and the bodice fits wonderfully. I love the comfort provided by the elastic-shirred back. My daughter didn’t complain at all when I put it on her, which is a huge victory!

I think this dress would be an amazing flower girl dress, Holiday Dress, Pageant Dress, Special Event Dress so I’m making it available in my Etsy shop here.

We headed to Boo at the Zoo over the weekend so here are some more pics of the ninja and princess just for fun.
