Sew Powerful Sewcial – March 17
Join us Saturday, March 17th, 1:30 – 4:30 pm for a Sew Powerful Sewcial!
Sew Powerful is an organization that combats extreme poverty through sewing! Their Sew Powerful Purse program enables girls to stay in school. Purses are made and sent to Zambia as gifts. The local seamstresses in Zambia make re-usable hygiene pads and together they are provided to girls as part of health (MHM) training.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO SEW TO HELP!!
We need people to…
- Cut purse pieces
- Organize the cut pieces for the seamstresses
- Write a note for each recipient on provided note cards
…in addition to seamstresses to construct the purses.
Feel free to bring any supplies you are willing to donate to purse-making and your sewing machine, if you have one. I will have fabrics and patterns available and I have two students machines so you can just bring yourself!
This is a kid friendly event and we welcome friends of any age to join us. Come and go as you are able.
If you desire and are willing, there will be a jar for $5 donations/purse to go toward the shipping costs and health supplies – completely optional! Your time is a wonderful gift too so don’t let this keep you from coming!
