Free Owl Ornament Instructions from Burda

Is this not the most adorable thing? I know Owls and woodland creatures are popular right now, and I’ve fallen for them hook, line and sinker! If you click on the picture above, you can download the pattern instructions for free – I know I plan to make at least one for one of my friends/family…Who will it be?!

This weekend I am running my first 5k. I’ve been sick this week with a head cold (perfect, right?) so I’m hoping I’m on the upswing since this is a trail run. While I’ve been training, it’s been mostly on a treadmill or flat asphalt so I’m a bit nervous anyway…then add cold. 🙁 I’ll let you know how it goes later this weekend or early next week.

Then next weekend, I’ll be heading over to my friend Lynn’s house to quilt the giant Santa quilt. I’m hoping we can do it so I can pull the back around for the binding, but we’ll see. I did that on my husband’s quilt and it looks nice enough (the stitching line provides a “ridge” on the back side and the front looks like tradiational binding), while eliminating the need to buy another fabric.

Are you sewing for Christmas? I’ve started cutting out my son’s quilt on my lunches. Today I’m debating if I should keep going at it or cuddle up in my car with my blanket and a book, since I’m not feeling well and wondering if I can realistically get it done in time for Christmas anyway…We’ll see what wins out – guilt or the cold. Hahahaha.
