Well the fabric from eQuilter came Friday as promised. (Thanks eQuilter!) It is a much better quality cotton with a little stretch and even after pre-washing it, it still looks fabulous. I sewed from sun up to sun down (and beyond) all day Saturday and half of Sunday and I still had A LOT of work to do. So I took a day off from my full time job to sew yesterday. I got a lot done and even met with my customer for one final fitting. She LOVED the dress, which was a great motivator for me to keep on going!
Before I met with her I pinned on the fluffy collar to get her take on it (before it was sewn down and permanent!) Here’s how it was going…
We took out a row and had to play with the rest a little because if you notice in the original picture (below), the ruffling gathers in more narrow rows and is not as bulky, but I think the end result will be really nice. In the picture above you can just barely see the top of the skirt, but when I finish altering it (sides and hem) I will post the entire project.
Thanks for following along! I can’t wait to show you the whole thing!
Amazing! You’ve definitely got talent!
Just keep swimming, just keep swimming. Ooops! I mean sewing!
Jamie, that is so pretty. You do such good work. Can’t wait to see it all finished.
