The Presidio Purse has customizable insets (gathered or plain) and handles (with or without hardware). I made mine without gathers since I used a mid weight denim for my contrast fabric, but be sure to check out the other tester’s versions or the hashtag #presidio purse on Instagram to see the gathered version – it’s super cute!

This bag is easy to customize and can be made with what you have on hand. There is no mandatory interfacing or hardware required. I tend to like bags with more structure so I put SF101 on the lining and Fusible Fleece on the exterior and I used 2″ nickel rectangles for the handle. But it could be made without interfacing for a true slouchy hobo bag feel and there are separate pattern pieces for a hardware-free handle.

The inside has a zipper pocket for concealing items of value, and a slip pocket to be divided any way you like for quick access to essentials.

The top of the bag also has a zipper for extra security and I added an exterior pocket, because let’s be real, swimsuits don’t have back pockets and our phones need somewhere to hang out where we can grab them in an instant.
